Cherry Blossom Lotion

Cherry blossom is one of my favorite fragrances. I remember back when one of my favorite beauty supply stores decided to discontinue the fragrance, I ran out and bought their cherry blossom lotion in bulk! Quick truth: I would mix their lotion with Nivea or vaseline to increase the emollient feel. This was back before I started making my own lotions and realized that I could include all the emollients I wanted and needed in order to create the best lotion for myself.

Nowadays, I make my own cherry blossom lotion and include shea butter, castor oil, and mango butter. All skin loving ingredients that are great for the skin any time of the year. This cherry blossom scented lotion offers moisture that not only quickly absorbs into the skin but also helps to keep the skin moisturized throughout the day. Amyris essential oil is also added to help provide a more woodsy and grounding scent to the cherry blossom.

Quick breakdown of the key ingredients:

Shea Butter: Moisturizing and incredibly nourishing for the skin. Full of natural vitamins and fatty acids that helps to protect the skin’s natural oils.

Castor Oil: Castor oil was chosen for this particular lotion for its humectant properties. Castor oil helps to draw moisture from the air to the skin the keep the skin moisturized longer. Castor oil also contains triglycerides which help to maintain moisture in the skin.

Mango Butter: Mango butter is rich in Vitamin A and C, palmitic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid, oleic acid which helps to promote glowing and revitalized skin.
